Golder Hires Former USACE Geotech Engineer

John W. (Jack) Monzingo, P.E., joins Golder’s Denver, CO office as Senior Consultant Geotechnical Engineer. He comes to Golder from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) where he was Chief of the Geotechnical Engineering and Sciences Branch, Engineering Division, Omaha District. Mr. Monzingo will further develop Golder’s business relationships with USACE, U.S Air Force, and other federal clients in the fields of engineering and environmental services.

During his 17 years as chief, he oversaw 85 employees, servicing the Corps’ Civil Works, Military Construction, and Environmental Restoration design missions. The branch included traditional soil mechanics and geology, as well as environmental sciences and surveys. With 33 years of expertise at the Corps, Mr. Monzingo specializes in geotechnical engineering, instrumentation design, and dam safety monitoring consultation.

Mr. Monzingo is a native of Omaha, Nebraska and received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is active in several professional and technical organizations, including the National Society of Professional Engineers (past Nebraska and Chapter president), Engineers Club of Omaha (past president), U.S. Society on Dams, and the Society of American Military Engineers. He has been a registered professional engineer in Nebraska since 1977.
