ICC-ES Announces a Plastic Pipe and Fitting Certification Program
November 10, 2010
ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) is pleased to announce the launch of a new program for plastic pipe and fitting manufacturers. This program is intended to streamline and simplify the certification process by offering plastic pipe and fitting manufacturers an opportunity to transfer their existing listings from other certification bodies.
“Under this program,” says Dawn LaFleur-Qualley, Manager of ICC-ES Certification Programs, “ICC-ES will certify eligible products to the requirements of relevant ASTM standards, NSF/ANSI 61, NSF/ANSI 14, and the International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Residential Code (IRC), and Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC). This can be done with just one application. We’re offering this wonderful opportunity until December 31, 2010.”
Shawn Martin, who works with plumbing-product manufacturers on behalf of the International Code Council, says, “ICC-ES hopes that plastic pipe and fitting manufacturers will take this opportunity to simplify their certifications and lower their costs.”
