Local Firm Donates Food to Charities
November 24, 2010

Richmond-based design firm, H&A Architects & Engineers, donated over 5,300 pounds of food combined to local charities in Richmond, Virginia Beach and San Diego.

In the Richmond office, employees collected a total of 4,237 pounds for the Central Virginia Foodbank. Between H&A’s two office locations in Virginia Beach, employees collected a total of 856 pounds for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. On the west coast, employees collected 231 pounds for the San Diego Food Bank.

H&A encouraged its 250 employees to donate by organizing the departments into competing teams. The electrical department in the Richmond office donated over 2000 pounds, contributing close to half of the total amount of food donated.

“This was a great competitive event for the staff and a wonderful way for everyone to support a very worthy cause,” said President and CEO, Mike Matthews, P.E.

Food bank contributions are critical during the holiday season; H&A is dedicated to the cause of hunger and holds food drive campaigns throughout the year.
