New Publication Offers Overview of Computational Fluid Dynamics
May 29, 2019

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has proven to be a valuable tool for designing new and retrofitting existing water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) new book, Computational Fluid Dynamics: Applications in Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Treatment, provides a valuable introduction and overview of CFD and how it can be used in the water and wastewater industry.

The availability of ever-increasing computing power further spurs the adoption of CFD in engineering practice and academic research for water infrastructure. Organized into five parts, parts 1 and 2 provide the foundation for both the treatment process and CFD; parts 3, 4, and 4 demonstrate how CFD can be used to simulate various aspects of water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment, with accompanying case studies.

This book will be a valuable resource to those in the water and wastewater industry, especially water engineers and designers.
