Revised AISC 2005 Specification Now Available

The AISC 2005 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings is now available for the second public review. This specification is in a “unified” format permitting the user to employ either the Load or Resistance Factor Design method or the Allowable Stress Design method. It will supersede both the 1989 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings – Allowable Stress Design and the 1999 Load and Resistance Factor Design Specification for Structural Steel Buildings.

You can download the document by visiting www.aisc.org/2005spec or, for a
nominal fee of $12, you can request a hard copy by calling 312.670.5411 (e-mail ). Please submit comments on only the newly revised text, as indicated in the draft document. Comments should be submitted electronically to using the comment form, which can be downloaded at www.aisc.org/PRForm.
