Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) will hold its 2005 Spring Professional Development Week at the Wyndham Orlando Resort, Orlando, FL, during the week of March 14-17. This event is designed to address today’s challenges in fire protection engineering.
The week will feature eight seminars. New is the one-day seminar, Introduction to Structural Fire Protection Engineering. This seminar provides an overview of the rules and guidelines that can be used to assess the fire resistance of building assemblies composed of steel, concrete, masonry and wood. In addition, the seminar outlines methods of performance-based analysis to determine the fire resistance of exposed structural assemblies.
Also featured is the four-day seminar, Code Official’s Guide to
Performance-Based Design Review, which is based on a program developed by the National Fire Academy. This seminar is designed to aid building or fire officials in the review of performance-based designs.
Returning are the always-popular seminars on sprinkler design,
fire alarm systems design, human behavior, FDS computer
modeling, principles of fire protection engineering and how to
study for the FPE/PE exam.
Registration is now available online at www.sfpe.org
