Solution Matrix Inc., a Butler, Pa.-based manufacturer of cold-therapy compression bandages for orthopedic surgery patients and other products, has announced plans to invest $2.25 million to relocate its headquarters and manufacturing operations to Franklin County, Va.
According to company’s president and chief executive officer, Keith Marshall, the company has outgrown its current 6,700-square-foot Pennsylvania plant and needed a larger plant to meet demand for its products. To meet those requirements, the company intends to build a 25,000-square-foot plant to be located in the Franklin County Commerce Center.
A $150,000 grant from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission was provided to support the project. According to Mr. Marshall, the grant money will be used to help defray expenses associated with equipment and machinery relocation as well as for building costs.
