VCU School Of Business To Host The 2016 RISC Trends Conference
March 4, 2016

The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Business 2016 Annual Risk and Insurance Studies Center Trends Conference will focus on the intersection of technology and risk.

The conference will be held on March 8 in Snead Hall, 301 W. Main St., from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Registration opens at 7:15 a.m.

“As new technologies emerge, companies must be vigilant of new risk exposures,” said Tim Cook, VCU RISC director. “Our conference program will highlight the challenges that risk management professionals and the insurance industry might encounter in addressing these new risk exposures.”

Keynote speakers are Joel Erb, founder, president and CEO of INM United and founding partner of Spot Trot, and Charles Kingdollar, vice president and emerging risks officer of Gen Re. They will discuss “Future of Technology” and “Intersection of Technology and Risk,” respectively.

Ridge Muhly of Gen Re will deliver the first of four Tech Talks, speaking about “Drones,” followed by Rob Ellison of Hanover Insurance discussing “3-D Printing,” Jake Kouns of Markel discussing “Cyber” and Charles Kingdollar discussing “Nanotechnology.”

Panelists for the “Hypothetical Case: Finding Coverage” discussion are L.D. Wade of Dominion Resources, Eric Harley of Marsh, Rod Smith of Lloyd’s and Michael Lassig of AmWINS.
