Virginia Tech Hosts Women in Mining 2013 National Meeting

The Virginia Tech chapter of Women in Mining is proud to host the 2013 Women in Mining National Meeting in Roanoke, Virginia, April 25th through the 27th at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, conveniently located just minutes from the Roanoke Airport. A block of rooms has been reserved for the meeting under Women in Mining and will be available at a special rate until March 25. The rooms in the block are available on a first come, first served basis.

Women in Mining (WIM) was founded in 1972 with a mission to facilitate education about the mining industry. Its members include engineers, geologists, land men, secretaries, lobbyists, mine workers, educators and concerned citizens. Founded in 2004, the Virginia Tech chapter of Women in Mining is one of three student chapters in the nation and currently has over 50 members, both male and female.
